Religion based terrorism and responsibilities of modern educated people

It is mere coincidence that religion based terrorism raised its head first in Muslim community. All Semitic revealed religions consider themselves true religion and want to proselyte others. Time to time purists arise in these communities to bring people back to correct, true and pure religion and they use force and coercion.

Such a version was developed by Abd al Wahhab in Islam in 1745 and Muhammad  Ibne Saud, chief of Diriyah  fought to establish this puritan Islam. Ottoman empire tried to check their advance. Ibn Saud (Abd al Aziz II) retook Riyadh in 1902 and established present Saudi kingdom. Ibn Saud  recovered earlier Saudi territory through raiding and skirmishes . In 1912, he set up agricultural settlements colonized by Wahhabi warrior groups called Ikhwan.    Dispute occurred between Husayn ibn Ali , Sharif of Mecca and Ibn Saud and then an open clash, the Wahhabis had upper hand. Sharifs, descendants of Hasan ibne Ali, were local ruler of Mecca and Medina under suzerainty of Cairo and then Ottomans acknowledged seniormost of them prince of Mecca.  When Ottoman empire was disintegrating, Sharif revolted with British help but then Sharif Husayn ibn Ali refused terms of treaty with British mainly because of Balfour Declaration- “statement of British support for the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.”  If  Husayn ibn Ali had co-operated with British the history of Muslim World had been different.  The Wahhabis marched into Hejaz and replaced Husayn ibn Ali in 1924. Britain and Saudi Arabia concluded agreements defining borders with the British mandate of Jordan and Iraq and by treaty in 1927 Ibn Saud was recognized as a sovereign independent ruler. Thus British had hand in establishing Saudi Arabia. The discovery of oil made Middle East rich and Saudi Arabia started exporting their Wahhabism all over the World. In 1990 Saudi Osama bin Laden espoused extreme form of Wahhabism and result is before us.

Instead of making a republic, British made Saudi kingdom and then oil was explored and this oil wealth and Saudi kingdom exported Wahhabism all over the World. So democracy must be established, sales of weapons and training be stopped and ideological war against fanaticism be waged if we want to end terrorism.

In India, there was a simple Islam where Shias and Sunnis practiced all embracing religion and participated in Hindu festivals and Hindus participated in Muslim festivals. Gradually Saudi funded madarsas  trained youths and sent them to do ‘tableegh’ among common people of cities and villages  and prohibited them from mixing with Hindus and adopting their customs and also from observing Shias’ mourning in Moharram.

This gradual Wahhabism propaganda took militant turn and we had Taliban, Al Qaeda, Al Shabab, Boko Haram. They are fighting, killing and doing terrorist attacks all over the World.

This is not religion. This is not Islam. All educated people of World must declare that it is not religion and it is not Islam. Religion and faith is a private matter. All this terrorism and violence are crime against humanity. These must be declared international crime and all countries of World must jointly crush all these extremist versions of religion.

It is the duty and responsibility of all the educated people of World to spread Scientific Outlook. This Earth is a small planet moving round the Sun. We human beings came on this Earth after Evolution. The mankind took the path of selfishness and injustice and women are suffering gender inequality and large numbers of people are starving and are under slavery and forced labour.

It is our responsibility to end starvation, slavery and all sorts of inequality. This is true religion.
